There is always a reason why you can be feeling down, stressed out, have low self esteem, in a bad place with your career/ workplace or you are unhappy in a your relationship. These issues get in the way of you reaching your goals in life. One of the problems is as humans we tend to get into negative patterns developed over many years which takes away our ability to achieve longer term happiness, satisfaction and success. It doesn’t make sense to keep repeating these things when there are some effective ways of overcoming them. Ways that are easier to utilize than you might be aware.

Given that we’ve all been brought up by humans who make mistakes, had siblings who weren’t always perfect, and been subjected to some less than caring behaviours in the school ground, it makes sense that everyone has some damage inside of them that effects them in their lives today. For some people it’s important to find out what this damage is and do a bit of repair work so it doesn’t keep causing them problems.
Getting control over your feelings:
Some people fear how they might feel and the possibility of losing emotional control when they are going through this type of process. One of the most important things we work with people on is their ability to have control over their feelings.
if you try to numb your feelings out by drinking, doing drugs or working too much, or by disconnecting,, emotions are like trying to push a football under water with your hand. The emotions don’t go away, in fact they can come up suddenly and wack you in the head when you least expect it which can really catch you off guard. So it’s about developing a balance between experiencing your emotions in a healthy and helpful way to make sure you’re not blocking them out or are feeling overwhelmed by them. Counselling assists you to get back in the drivers seat of your emotions, work, social life, relationship issues and self esteem.
