What is Self Hypnosis?


Self Hypnosis is an easy, fast, safe and powerful way to access your unconscious mind without your critical and often negative conscious mind getting in the way.


Self Hypnosis can be used to allow yourself to more easily achieve your goals such as increased confidence, reduced smoking, weight control, and reduced stress.

 

The list is endless.  No special knowledge is needed but, as with most techniques, practice improves any positive effects.


All you need for this group session is a trust in yourself and a willingness to learn how to reduce any limits you have placed on yourself with a more positive mind set.


Dr. Stephanie Stephens is a Senior Psychologist with the Centre for Human Potential and regularly uses Clinical Hypnosis as an integral part of her counselling.

Clinical hypnosis/self hypnosis can be administered in individual sessions (see Clinical Hypnosis) or group sessions (see below).

Overview
 

The Self Hypnosis groups are in a comfortable environment with a low number of participants (8) assisting you to learn the techniques of self hypnosis and successfully apply them in your life. It is very different to the more popular forms of hypnosis, as it is based on Clinical Hypnosis as recognised within the Medical profession. We offer 3 streams for practical application: 1) Reducing stress and building confidence 2) Weight loss and 3) Smoking cessation.  Class numbers are kept small so that each person can have a high level of interaction with Dr. Stephens. 

 

The Self Hypnosis Sessions
There are three Self Hypnosis streams offered by Dr. Stephens – Weight Loss, Stress/Confidence, and Smoking Cessation.  Each stream consists of 6 sessions. They can be purchased individually or in a package. If you are referred by your General Practitioner with a "Mental Health Care Plan" costs are partially covered by medicare.  Sessions start mid month, for more information please Contact Us.
